Topps and VeeFriends Unite at New York Comic Con

Topps and VeeFriends are teaming up to launch a new line of Topps Chrome trading cards at New York Comic Con. The collaboration between Topps, known for its sports cards, and VeeFriends, created by entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk, brings a fresh twist to the non-sports trading card market. The new VeeFriends cards will feature unique characters designed to inspire kindness, accountability, and growth.

VeeFriends, with its strong following and positive messaging, has developed a reputation for its entertaining characters. The partnership with Topps marks the second collaboration between Vaynerchuk and Fanatics, with the goal of expanding the VeeFriends brand to a larger audience. Characters like Notorious Ninja and Patient Panda will grace the new line of Chrome cards, providing fans and collectors with new and exciting collectibles.

Kelvin Smith, Senior Vice President of Global Licensing and Partnerships at Fanatics Collectibles, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, emphasizing the mutual goal of serving fans and collectors. The partnership aligns well with Topps’ strategy to engage new collectors and expand its presence in the non-sports card market. Andy Krainak, President of VeeFriends, sees the collaboration as an opportunity to reach a wider audience and enhance the brand’s visibility.

With 283 unique characters, VeeFriends is dedicated to building a community through storytelling, games, events, and collectibles. The partnership with Topps allows VeeFriends to tap into innovation, global distribution, and storytelling through trading cards, comics, and animations. This strategic move not only elevates the VeeFriends brand but also provides a new avenue for fans to engage with their favorite characters.

The launch at New York Comic Con is strategically chosen to introduce VeeFriends to a diverse collector base. While the event may not focus solely on sports cards, the appeal of VeeFriends’ characters, animation, and collectibles transcends age barriers, making it an ideal platform for the debut of the new Topps Chrome line. By expanding its non-sports portfolio, Topps aims to capture the attention of fans, kids, and collectors from various backgrounds.

The partnership with VeeFriends signifies Topps’ commitment to diversifying its offerings and attracting a new generation of collectors. With recent collaborations with entertainment giants like Disney and Marvel, Topps is poised to make a significant impact in the non-sports trading card market. The collaboration with VeeFriends not only injects fresh energy into the collectible space but also establishes VeeFriends as a key player in the industry, providing fans with innovative ways to connect with their beloved characters.
