Topps Unveils March Madness Basketball Card Series

Topps has joined forces with the NCAA to present its inaugural March Madness basketball card series, offering fans an exclusive look at some of the brightest stars in college basketball. Priced at $139.99 per pack, these cards guarantee an autograph from a selection of standout players. Featuring notable athletes like Zach Edey from Purdue and Caitlin Clark, the men’s and women’s Players of the Year, each pack includes an autographed card, six base cards, and one parallel card numbered to 99 or fewer. These limited edition packs are available for purchase on Topps’ official website until Thursday, with the chance to find dual autograph cards in every tenth pack.

The collection showcases a curated lineup of 20 prominent athletes from college basketball. Representing the men’s side are players like Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham from Kentucky, Tristen Newton and Stephon Castle from UConn, and Kyle Filipowski from Duke. On the women’s side, stars include Cameron Brink from Stanford, Aaliyah Edwards from UConn, and Paige Bueckers from UConn. Exciting dual autographs feature pairings such as Clark/Edey, Clark/Reese, Reese/Van Lith, and Sheppard/Dillingham, adding a unique touch to the series.

The presence of Caitlin Clark in the card series is limited until April 1, as she prepares to enter into an exclusive trading card agreement with Panini America. By collaborating with the NCAA, Topps can incorporate the iconic March Madness logo and branding into their products, opening the door to future joint projects. This partnership has resulted in the release of over 120 Bowman U cards this season through the Topps NOW platform, with 61 cards showcasing college basketball talents. Caitlin Clark, in particular, has been featured on 13 different cards, the highest among all college athletes, demonstrating the popularity of these limited edition collectibles.

Over the past two years, college players have been a significant part of the traditional Topps Bowman University line, enriching the collector’s experience with the dynamic energy of college sports. As the collaboration between Topps and the NCAA continues to evolve, fans can look forward to more exciting releases that capture the essence of college basketball and the thrill of March Madness.
