Memory Lane’s Exclusive Auction Showcases Vintage Card Collection

Memory Lane, a distinguished auction house, is hosting its exclusive Premier Auction, which is currently active and will continue until February 4th. This eagerly anticipated event presents a carefully selected collection of 120 vintage sports cards, captivating collectors with its limited yet impressive offerings. With a catalog filled with historically significant and highly sought-after cards, this auction is a must-visit for any enthusiast.

One of the crown jewels of the auction is the 1909 T204 Ramly Walter Johnson rookie card. This card, one of only two in NM/MT (Near Mint/Mint) condition graded PSA 8, has already garnered a six-figure bid. Equally captivating is the rare T206 Ty Cobb Portrait (Green) card, with only three copies graded PSA 7 in existence. The auction also features a highly rated PSA 6 Cobb ‘Bat Off Shoulder’ Old Mill back card.

The auction proudly represents the pre-war era with exceptional pieces like the PSA 7 graded T206 Cy Young card and the highest graded PSA 9 T206 Nap Lajoie (Throwing) card. A standout item among the collection is the 1952 Bowman Mickey Mantle card, graded PSA 9. With only 13 cards at this level, and just two known to be higher graded, this card is a true gem.

Mickey Mantle’s legacy continues with six additional cards from the 1950s, each graded either 8 or 9. Highlights include prized versions from the 1953 Topps and Bowman series, which are highly sought after by collectors.

Roberto Clemente’s cards from 1956 to 1973 dominate the auction, particularly numerous Mint 9 graded ones, outnumbering those of other players. Willie Mays also takes center stage with exceptional pieces, such as the rare 1962 Topps card graded PSA 9 and a 1970 Topps card, one of only two graded PSA 10.

Jackie Robinson, an icon in baseball history, is well-represented with four cards, showcasing PSA graded versions of his 1949 Bowman and 1952 Topps issues. Additionally, the auction presents PSA 10 rookie cards of baseball greats George Brett and Rickey Henderson.

Football enthusiasts will find high-grade rookie cards of Frank Gifford, Johnny Unitas, and Joe Namath. Basketball collectors can delight in rookie cards of Bill Russell (graded PSA 7), Wilt Chamberlain (graded PSA 8), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (graded PSA 8), Larry Bird/Magic Johnson (graded PSA 9), and Michael Jordan (graded PSA 8).

Memory Lane’s Premier Auction offers collectors a unique opportunity to own a piece of sports history.
